Fashion Show Offered Students A Chance To Express Themselves

This past Friday, February 15th, East Leyden’s fashion show, titled “Express Yourself”  was held in the East Auditorium. The one hour show was put on by East Leyden’s fashion club.

According to Marissa Kimzey, the club’s sponsor, the students had put a good 15 hours into the show. The students put in all this time in just four short weeks.

The show featured many themes such as vintage, scarfs, Aztec, and fashion in the city.

With all the different themes, the models needed to quickly change outfits backstage.

Senior Nicole Muench said, “You’re [the models] supposed to do it in under a minute. I do it in 30 seconds.”

Despite the short changing time, the models looked fantastic and were having a very good time on the catwalk as well.

Freshman Caitlin Johnson said, “My favorite part is probably just being able to express myself through my clothing.”

Although the turnout was small, the show was still spectacular and if you didn’t get a chance to attend, you can get a feel for the show by watching the highlights video.

Although I didn’t really get to see the whole Fashion show, I loved how people can express themselves through clothing and they can work it off. It was very cute and awesome to see. I knew some of the people there, so it was fun to watch. It was inspiring to see different people go up on the stage and work it to their extent. It was an awesome enjoyment!
