First Ever Theater Extravaganza

On March 15 the fine arts department will be hosting a special THEATER EXTRAVAGANZA at West Leyden Auditorium beginning at 5 p.m.

For just three dollars, guests will be able to enjoy three different shows, and all profits will go to the Leyden Players Scholarship Fund.

The evening will start off with “Sorry, Wrong Number” at 5:00 p.m.

It is a suspense thriller about Miss Stevenson, a wealthy women living in New York City who overhears a phone call between two men conspiring to commit murder.

Next will follow the production “99 Ways to Tell a Story” at 5:30 p.m., which is a play based off a book of the same title.

These two shows will be performed again on Saturday, March 16 as part of a competition against other schools. Depending on how well the shows do this Saturday, one or both could be moving on to state for the following Saturday.

The final production, “Footloose”, will be performed at 7:00 p.m. which will end the THEATER EXTRAVAGANZA.

I am a senior in the English 4 Jounalism class at East Leyden High School. I have attended this school for all 4 years, and came from Hester Junior High. I hope to improve my writing skills to write great articles, and to improve my speaking skills in interviews in order to get the best information for my articles. I am going to be focousing on writing about the theater department and what goes on in the plays. After high school, I hope to get a major in something with animals, and I am going to go to college in state.
