A big change has been made to this year’s upcoming Fashion Show. According to Marissa Kimzey, East Leyden Fashion Club coordinator, the Fashion Clubs from both campuses will combine together to make one show.

Ms. Kimzey and FCS teacher Laurie Foss, who are the Fashion Club advisers, hope to have a bigger production this year and for everyone watching or participating in the show to have a better experience.

Every year at East Leyden, the Fashion Club puts on a fashion show to show off some of their favorite outfits.

The fashion show is a Leyden tradition that has been going on for about 15 years. This year the fashion show will take place in the West Leyden auditorium on February 17.

Ms. Kimzey went on to say how the merger between the campuses has already caused some excitement.

“This year I’m looking forward to having a lot more models than we had last year because we are combining it.”

An approximate 35-40 models will be participating in this year’s show.

“It’s going to be nice having students from both campuses,” she added.

The students who are in Fashion Club are the ones who decide what the runs are in the fashion show.

Senior Hanna Kozina, participant in last year’s show, is also participating this year and noted how the show “is also a great way to express yourself.”

She went on to add that “East and West Leyden being combined for the show this year will [make it] bigger and awesome.”

Preparation for the show hasn’t really started yet but will start around December. So far the Fashion Club has been thinking about a couple of runs they might want to put in the show.

If you have any ideas for runs Ms. Kimzey encourages you to join Fashion Club. Meetings are every other Thursday in room 274.
