Poverty can lead to a lot of other long term consequences. Once someone grows up in a not so stable household, they tend to sort of “give up” on life in general which is how they end up in really bad situations that have much worse consequences. In my book, Her: a memoir, the two twins are raised by their single. determined mother and they sure grew up in poverty. After loosing her sister, Christa struggles to survive and try to live her life in a much different style then before. She knew that her chances of survival were very slim.
