The regular season for IHSA football is over and we move on to what everyone’s been waiting for. Playoffs! This year, the 8a state championship looks wide open to whoever wants to go get it. Lincoln-Way East is projected to move through the first two rounds to meet up with Glenbard West predicted by Deep Dish Football. The IHSA Playoff Show had Glenbard West all the way through to beat Lincoln-Way East.  According to the show, Huntley is going to be a team that many sleep. Although Huntley is considered a sleeper, Naperville North looks like another sleeper. They have been able to come back through adversity. They came back from a 42 point deficit against Edwardsville and they look to use that momentum to swing them through to Dekalb. The Huskies are led by Boom trained quarterback, Drake Davis. Naperville North looks to make a dent into the bracket but will fall to Lincoln-Way East in the Quarters. Lincoln-Way East will fall to the former state champs, Maine South in the Quarters. In the state final, it will be Maine South vs. Loyola Academy. A rematch of last year’s state title game, but this time Loyola will reign Champion. Although I predict Loyola winning it this year, all other sources believe this bracket is going to be open to whatever team wants it the most. Whichever teams make it down to Dekalb, will have to earn the right to play. Everyone will have to wait and see which team will rise champion.
