Advanced catering students prepare for their annual Pie Day Sale

The Advanced Catering students will be hosting their Annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale event through November 15th.

Students prepare both apple and pumpkin pies from scratch, and they sell for $5 each. Students prepare the pies in class the Monday & Tuesday before Thanksgiving break and then deliver the pies to customers the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

“Last year, the class sold over 200 pies”, said advanced catering teacher Nichole Sweeney. “Our class is also preparing for more pie sales this year.”

Ms. Sweeney noted it is a positive experience for her students.

“It is an amazing experience for the students to not only prepare food, but to work cooperatively with a large group of students to accomplish a huge task successfully.”

Senior Linnea Virzi, who is a second year catering student, hopes that her experience will help her make this event a success.

“Hopefully this year goes great as it went last year!” Virzi said

Faculty and staff can contact Ms. Sweeney for an order form. Ordering will close on Friday the 15th.
