Boys Cross Country Tie for First

The boys cross country are looking strong after a cold windy day on Thursday, October 4th, 2012. The team competed at the Elmwood Park Invite and tied for first place overall as a team.

In cross country the top five runners from each school count for the scoring system, but if there is a tie it comes down to the sixth runner from both schools. Leyden fell short and took second.

Senior Rocco DiMatteo placed first with a personal record of 15:55 in the three mile race and senior Nick Avila placed second matching his personal record of 15:56 individually.

The boy’s look forward to running this Saturday, October 13th at Center Point Park for their conference race.
