The boys and girls cross country teams ended their season on October 27th as both ran at the sectional meet at Niles West High School with the hopes of having a couple of individuals qualify.
For the boys, senior Rocco DiMatteo and senior Nick Avila lead the Eagles even though Avila had a hurt knee.
On the girls team, senior Danyle Segura and junior Aleksandra Kijowska lead the Eagles.
After all the countless miles and effort, none of the Leyden runners qualified for the state cross country meet which will be on Saturday, November 3, in Peoria, Illinois at Detweiller Park.
