Insidious: Chapter 2, directed by James Wan, is a horror film that is set to release in theaters on Friday, September 13th. The movie is a sequel to the first movie, Insidious, that came out in 2011.

Insidious was about a little boy, Dalton Lambert, played by Ty Simpkins, who went into a coma after a strange accident happened in the attic. Only it wasn’t really a coma, he was trapped in a spirit world called The Further. The Further is a place for tormented souls of the dead. Dalton’s father, Josh Lambert, played by Patrick Wilson, finds a way to bring Dalton back to the real world.

Audiences who were left wondering what happened to the Lambert family after Dalton’s experience are anticipating answers in this second installment as it focuses on the Lamberts trying to figure out why they are connected to The Further.

The movie’s trailers have people split on whether this is going to be another good scary movie or just another sequel gone wrong.

Wan, who directed the first installment, recently directed this summer’s horror hit The Conjuring, which also starred Patrick Wilson and went on to earn more than $250 million worldwide. While The Conjuring was rated R, Insidious: Chapter 2 earned only a PG-13 rating.
