Hot Streak to Glory!
Boys varsity gearing up for soccer playoffs this week.
After an amazing season in the 2012 year, the soccer team has been keeping up with the competition this year. Their record shows that although there are some tough opponents out there, they are still the team to beat. With a record of over 11 wins, the team is currently ranked 6th, second in their conference.
A couple of the biggest accomplishments the team has performed was the Eagles vs. Downers Grove South game, who have been Leyden’s enemies in many sports since many years ago, where they won 2-1, and their outstanding second place lead in conference.
Mark Valintis, the head soccer coach for the boys team said, “Our season is almost over, and we are looking forward to the playoffs.”
The last couple weeks, according to Mr. Valintis, the team has hit a hot-streak and have been playing very well together the past couple of weeks.
The varsity boys next game in the playoffs will be tomorrow against Addison Trail, which is ranked 11th. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be held at Elk Grove.
