Spring Break Leads to Visit to White House for Roybal

U. S. paralympian Brody Roybal was invited to the White House on April 2 for the Best of U. S. Awards, hosted by Willie Geist. While there, Roybal was able to meet President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama.

Geist, who is a reporter for MSNBC, helped introduce President Obama and the first lady, who recognized the olympians for all their hard work during the Winter Olympic Games.

Brody remarked how during the event, all of the olympians and paralympians were together again just like their stay in Sochi.

Roybal, who is only a sophomore at West Leyden High School, competed as a part of the U. S. Paralympics Sled Hockey team. They even took home the gold medal.

Roybal is the youngest participant in the history of the Paralympic; he needed to get special permission from the organization to play.
