Three Leyden Graduates Honored at 2012 Alumni Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony

On Thursday, September 27th, the Leyden Alumni Association hosted the Alumni Hall of Fame induction ceremony for three former graduates of Leyden High Schools in the Nardini Library.

These three graduates were applauded for their success and shared their memories of Leyen and how Leyden helped them get to where they are today.

Nola Ilchene Theiss – Class of 1964

Mrs. Theiss has a masters degree in Public Administration and has degrees from John Hopkins and the University of Illinois.

She fights against human trafficking using public awareness and her multiple talents.

She has been to over 5 countries and has talked to over 14,000 people about human trafficking.

James R. Weigand – Class of 1973

Mr. Weigand is the president for Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware.

He helps makes people’s lives better, creating things like bulletproof jackets and investing in ways of preparing for the future.

He has contributed to Make-A-Wish, Special Olympics, and the United Way. He serves on the Arizona State University Carey School of Business Leadership Advisory Board.

Dr. Daniel Martinez – Class of 1986

Dr. Martinez is a certified Adult and Child Psychiatrist. He’s president of Comprehensive Clinical Services, which is a mental health clinic.

He has been granted many awards, like the Pfizer Psychiatry Resident of the year, the Dr. Jorge Prieto Medical Achievement Award, and the Welford Award in Community Mental Health.

These three brave people have overcame tough obstacles, but have all have achieved great success.
