Scream Review
It's a Scream
Micheal Myers, Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, and now Ghost Face. All horror movie killers that continue coming back to finally finish what they started.
The latest Scream movie came out on March 10, 2023. Many horror movie fans were excited to see if this new movie would meet the horror standards, or just be another ‘Scream’ movie. While the movie is filled with many life-or-death situations, director Matt Bettinelli-Olpin made sure to sprinkle in some comedic scenes between the characters. Jenna Ortega played the role of Tara Carpenter and her sister Sam Carpenter, played by Melissa Barrera move to New York in hopes of living a normal life and leaving behind all the horror of Woodsboro but are forced to relive their nightmare when a new Ghost Face begins to taunt these sisters but not with games. This new Ghost Face intends to get their revenge and hopes to end the life of Tara Carpenter.
One of the more dramatic scenes is when Ghost Face is in the apartment with the Carpenter sisters and their friends, but they won’t realize that until it’s too late The scene is intensified by the dark mysterious music playing in the background and that one moment of silence that is disrupted by a scream. The fast-paced chase scenes that are life or death bring the scenes together and keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
The lighting work was done in a way that added even more suspense to the movie. In the more comedic scene, you notice that it is either day or that it is very bright. When it comes to the more mysterious scenes it’s dark and gloomy, and there are lights turning on and off just to add that suspense. The lighting along with the acting really contributed to making this a great movie. You can tell that the cast have chemistry both on and off set by the way they work together to show true and raw emotions and make the movie come to life.
