Most teens see cars as a way to just get from one place to the other. Jonathan, on the other hand, sees it as a way to express himself. Jonathan Prifti, a senior at East Leyden, has had the amazing experience of creating his bond with cars at a young age. Jonathan shares his close bond with his father through the love of cars. He says, “When I was really young, my dad used to work on cars a lot. He always fixed cars himself, and I’d always help him, so he really got me interested at a young age. We’d always go to car shows together, and we’d look at all the cool cars and all the different stuff that we’ve done to them. And, yeah, it just grew from there, especially hanging out with other people as well that were really interested in cars.” He then adds on, “I’ve used cars and driving in general as a way to deal with stress, especially when you’re driving by yourself, there’s nobody else around you. All you’re focused on is the road and the car. So it is a big stress reliever, especially when you have no people bothering you and no problems. “ Jonathan also shares his dream car, “My dream car would probably be a Mercedes Benz S 63 or a Mercedes 60 3s. It’s my dream car due to the fact that I really like German cars, and especially Mercedes Benz. They’re more luxurious, but they still have a lot of power in them.” He then goes on to say, “I personally hate electric vehicles. I find them really stupid. And for the future of car technology, I don’t really like where things are going with all the new screens and cars, I like buttons more on the inside.” Jonathan is going to finish his senior year strong, just like his love for cars.
