October is known for a lot of things, including Breast Cancer Awareness month.

It’s sad to say but many people know someone, whether it’s someone they are close to or not, that has been affected with cancer. Yet, people affected with cancer continue to show their strength in their fight against cancer.

The Leydenette’s dance team figured it would be a fun and helpful way to help raise money by exercising to raise money for Breast Cancer.

So, this past Thursday, the Leydenette’s team held a Party in Pink Zumbathon at the Rosemont Health and Fitness Center.

Junior and Leydenette dancer Alyssa Desimone helped arrange this year’s Party In Pink Zumbathon.

She knew that the Leydenette’s had been challenged to take on a fundraising event, so she talked to her mom, who works at the Rosemont Health and Fitness Center, and thought this would be a good turnout and a fun thing for the dance team to do as a whole.

“I think it will show our teammates how giving a little bit of our time can help a lot of people out in the long run,” Desimone said.

The Leydenette’s were responsible in leading five dances, and keeping participants on their feet within the two and a half hour long session.

Every member of Rosemont Health and Fitness were also there walking around, exercising, and helping everyone join in the routines.

For only $10, participants learned numerous dance routines that had heart rates rising.

It’s interesting considering the fact the Leydenette’s haven’t had a Zumbathon fundraiser in two years.

Yet, the Leydenette’s and coaches Marisa Kapinos and Michelle Marchese were excited to see how it all turned out considering all the hard work was for a good cause.
