Football Team Suffers a Tough End to Their Season

“All good things must come to an end,” and that is a good description of what happened this year to the varsity football team. With a record of 7-2 and crowned as West Suburban Conference Gold champions, this was one of the best years Leyden has had in a while.

The season officially ended on October 26th when Leyden went up against Bartlett in the first round of the Division 8A of the IHSA playoffs and lost 14-0. Quarterback Mike Smith was injured in the fourth quarter with a mild concussion, yet appears to be doing well.
