Joanna Leski, Reporter
Joanna is very excited to be a staff member of “The Talon” this school year. She is looking forward to writing about anything interesting that’s happening around Leyden and adding it to this website for everyone to read. There are a lot of interesting things happening around here, but a lot of people don’t know about them, so Joanna is looking forward to share them with us. She is a very good writer and can’t wait to prove it to everyone who’s reading the Talon.
3 Things to Know
1. ALWAYS SMILING
Developments/Details: Joanna has a twin sister, and she couldn’t be happier about it. Joanna is a smart girl who does well in school and is very good at writing. She stands up for herself when people treat her badly. The thing she dislikes most is disloyal friends. She describes herself as very optimistic. I’m sure everyone who knows her would describe her as optimistic because she is always smiling!
2. THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE
Developments/Details: Now Joanna enjoys reading and writing, but after high school she wants to be a physical therapist. She wants to go into this field because she want to help people get healthy and live better. Being a physical therapist is rewarding because they work with people over an extended period of time, and that creates a real relationship. Joanna is also looking forward to going to college - either in Poland or at Dominican University.
3. FAMILY IS EVERYTHING
Developments/Details: Family is important to Joanna. “The happiest day of my life was when I met my whole family when I was about 7 years old,” she said with a smile. Joanna says having a twin makes everything better for her because it’s like having another you. She, of course, sees herself having a family and kids in the future. She wants her kids to be strong and to stand up for themselves just like her.
