Fall Festivities

Local attractions to create new fall traditions

Fall Festivities

Leaves are changing, temperature is dropping, pumpkin lattes are brewing. Fall is here. Who doesn’t enjoy the crisp air and crunch of leaves that Fall brings us?

For all of those who love the season, but can’t narrow down what it is you must do before the first snow fall, I would start by checking out these five activities.

Who knows you could start a new tradition! Below each of the ideas are some links to festivities in/around our area.

1. Apple Picking– My favorite thing that my family does every year, is apple picking. Typically we leave around 8 in the morning (since the drive is about an hour) and we spend the entire day picking apples and eating apple everything! If you aren’t a fan of apples trust me, you will be, and don’t even get me started on the doughnuts. This is a relaxed and happy environment that everyone should experience in the fall. With an old folk band playing and apple cider brewing, it can’t get much better.

2. Fall Farms– This can be the perfect place for a family day or even a perfect date night! Fall farms can contain carnival rides, pumpkin patches, haunted hayrides, haunted barns, and unlimited amounts of your favorite fall munchies. Fall farms can knock out your entire fall to do list because they offer so much fall filled fun!

3. Pumpkin Patches– Okay, this is something I feel I shouldn’t have to mention, but I will because it is such a must around fall. As cliche this may seem, it is so much fun to do with friends or a loved one. Picking out the perfect pumpkin is essential for the fall because it is the start of your Halloween happenings! It can be seen as a craft, a tasty snack, or even sweet treat. Now go get a pumpkin, or three, and make some memories!

4.  Corn Maze– Get the gang and go get lost in a corn maze! What better way to enhance your friendship then enjoying a nice fall day chatting and exploring! Adventures are a great way to make lifelong memories, and corn mazes offer just that! For those who are extra outdoorsy, and feeling a little risky… try a haunted corn maze. I suggest you wait until right around Halloween to try that!

5. Bonfire– For those who are on a tight budget or are just looking for something simple but memorable, a bonfire can be the perfect festivity. Grab some friends, get some sticks and start roasting those marshmallows! Tell some stories, eat some s’mores, and bond with the people in your life. Fall is a time to remember what we are thankful for, so sit back and relax. Surround yourself the people that mean the most to you.
