For the second time junior Annalisa Jamnik has been selected as one of the best high school technicians in the state.
She will participate in the 2013 All-State production in January at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign as part of the three day Illinois High School Theater Festival.
The IHSTF is an annual three day event that attracts over 4,000 students and teachers. The three-day festival takes place every year in early January and showcases over 25 different high school productions and over 150 workshops.
The All-State production is an honor for any high school student wanting to do anything in the theater world.
The All-State production is, “a show that is annually performed at the Illinois High School Theater Festival. It consists of the best student technicians, actors, and musicians,” Vic Pilolla, Leyden’s Technical Director & Theater Productions Manager said.
Jamnik knew what to expect from last year’s All-State show, but some things have changed.
“The second year you know what to expect, but at the same time it is a new experience,” Jamnik said.
The All-State show has left a strong impact on Jamnik these past two years.
“It has made me consider taking on theater as a career and appreciate theater more,” Jamnik said.
