Phantom of the Opera : Edgy Romance   

If you are looking for some drama, the Phantom of the Opera is the perfect musical to watch. Filled with ghastly songs and edgy dark settings, it’s the perfect mystery musical all wrapped up with romance. The story follows Christy, an orphaned  child, who wishes to one day be famous.The Paris Opera House is rumored to be haunted due to the freak accidents that happen during rehearsals and performances. Christy dreams of becoming an actress on stage instead of being in the chorus.After the  lead actress is mysteriously wounded and can not perform, Christy gets the opportunity to become the lead actress in the musical at the  Paris Opera House. While Christy rehearses for lead in opera house, she begins to hear strange singing within the walls. Before her father died, he swore to her  that he would return to her as an angel.  Christy assumes that the voice in the walls she  hears is of her deceased father. The real singers turns out to be Erik, Christy’s long lost friend who has fallen in love with Christy while she performed. Erik could win over Christine’s heart if it weren’t for the fact that she was in love already with Raoul. The musical quickly changes from inspirational adventure to a bitter love triangle, filled with great acting and songs.

Sound of Music: Adventure

Sound of Music is a musical for the heart. It shows the true meaning of family and shows you how strong the bond is. The musical revolves around the von Trapp family living in the Austria during World War ll. The story starts after the von Trapp’s latest nanny has quit due to the troublesome children of the single father Mr. von Trapp. That’s when the young and bright Maria, a nun in a convent, is sent into the family to care for the children. At first her welcoming is not great, but the children soon learn to love Maria. A romance soon begins between the strict but loving father Mr. von Trapp and Maria. At first Maria is very confused because she has sworn to serve the convent and makes the rash decision to go back, but soon finds out she doesn’t belong there anymore. At the same time Mr. von Trapp is preoccupied with the upcoming invasion of Germany. Having high standing in Austria he is urged to be loyal to the Nazi party and if he is not, he will suffer the consequences. A hilarious and well-planned escape is made for the von Trapp family as they make their getaway from Austria. Sound of Music is full of catchy tunes and fun beats. It’s a fast-paced musical that is perfect for the whole family to watch.

Mama Mia: Chick Flick

Mama Mia is the perfect musical for a girls night out. The musical is based on the songs of the Swedish pop group ABBA. The play starts with 20 year old Sophie planning her wedding with her fiance, Sky. Everything is perfect except that Sophie doesn’t know who her real father is, due to her mother’s promiscuous past. While Sophie rummages through her mother’s belongings, she finds an old diary of her mother’s teen years. As she reads through the diary she discovers that there are three possible men who may be her biological father. Sophie decides to contact each man by inviting them to her wedding under false pretense that it is Donna, her mother, inviting them. Soon all the ex suitors of Donna appear the next day, and chaos quickly erupts! All three men begin to bicker over who will walk Sophie down the aisle. Determined to to have her real father give her away in marriage, Sophie begins to piece her mother’s past together. Along with the help of her friends she tries to chose whose traits she most closely resembles from the three men. A merry and hilarious musical will have you chuckling and crying at the same time. The songs of ABBA fit perfectly with all the scenes and leave you singing them long after the play is over!
