She wears a grin on her face, owing to her love of soccer, and her long black hair. She walks in the room with a confident strut. Valeria Inzurriaga, a senior at East Leyden who does cheer and soccer, has big dreams of starting her career in Political Science after school. Valeria shares her favorite drink to sip on while she does her school work. She says,  “My favorite drink would definitely be a Venti Strawberry Acai with Lemonade.” Some people prefer being in a busy environment to focus, this includes Valeria. “I enjoy studying in a busy environment” says Valeria, “ I have gotten used to going to different coffee shops and putting on my headphones and getting work done regardless of what’s going on around me.” She then goes on to talk about how she wants her final year of school to go, “I’m looking forward to making memories with my friends and enjoying my last year of highschool!” Friends also have a major impact in another aspect of her life, “My family and friends motivate me to stay on track and push myself to achieve my goals,” says Valeria as a small grin appears on her face. Valeria shares some tips for the incoming seniors: “I would tell incoming seniors to surround themselves with people who help them grow.” Valeria already has her eyes set on a goal after high school graduation: “After high school, I plan on attending a four year university and studying Political Science.” For now, Valeria will continue working hard on her academics so she could get into her dream college.
