A Benefit for Gregory William Morgan

Karina Kosmala, Arts and Entertainment Editor

Leyden Choral Department is hosting A Benefit Concert for Gregory William Morgan on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 6:00pm-9:30pm at West Leyden. The cost of the performance is $10 for adults and $5 for students, and all proceeds will go to cover the medical costs of Leyden Alumn, and 4-year choir student, Gregory William Morgan who is fighting a battle with Sinonasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma (SNUC).

Greg is the kind of person who can light the darkest room with his smile, laughter and witty sense of humor!  He is an extremely bright young man whom I have called several times over the years to help with a current student’s chemistry or calculus!  Greg was a very active member of the Leyden High School community – playing Football and Hockey, as an Eagle Scout, and performing on stage with different choirs and in our shows!  He gave a lot to Leyden during his time here, and has continue to help whenever called upon.  I’m so glad we can give back to him in this way!” said Ms. Cunningham.

The concert will feature current Leyden Choral Students, Alumni, and friends including professional dueling piano players, Kaleen Dolan ‘07. You can come stay for 3 minutes or 3 hours, and if you can’t make the performance, but still would like to donate, you can donate through his gofundme website: https://www.gofundme.com/teammorgan28.

According to Ms. Cunningham, “This benefit is important because it will help with the financial burden that has been placed on the Greg and his family, and it also provides his friends an opportunity to help by doing something: sharing music.”
