Growing up Christian Bialczak was glued to his screen, really loving to stay home and playing video games all day. He would often stay on WAY too much and end up getting dry eyes and a big headache, but it was worth it to him. If he hadn’t been on for so long back in the day, he would have never met his best friends. The games that started Christian’s love for video games are Sonic Adventure 2, and Yoshi’s Story. “My favorite childhood memory I have of playing Sonic Adventure 2, would be when me and my brother would play the battle mode in the game.” The battle mode came with three different game modes: Racing, Shooting, and Hunting. Hunting was their least favorite since it was a pretty boring game mode, shooting was also boring since it was pretty much just a spam shoot button game mode. Lastly there was Racing, that one was their favorite since it was always action packed and intense. He says, “Now obviously I wouldn’t win very often because I was very young but it was still the most fun I ever had at the time because I was able to hang out with my brother.” Christian’s favorite childhood memory is from Yoshi’s story. It would be a pretty basic one but still a memory he cherishes dearly: “As I was growing up I lived in the same house as my grandparents, and the only console I had was my uncle’s hacked Wii, and sure it had a whole bunch of games on there but the only one that interested me was Yoshi’s Story. It was a really hard game, but very cute as I loved Yoshi growing up.” But his favorite memory about it wasn’t even playing the game. “My favorite memory was when I opened the game, my grandma would walk in and start singing the theme song with me, it was such a comforting time.”
